IMG_0219The team at Athlone are excited to announce the introduction of Southdowns to its ram lineup in 2016. The new breed comes in response from increased demand from prime lamb producers. Southdowns are the prefect choice to put over maidens and provide wool tightness and conformity to composite ewe breeders.

Our rams make use of some of Australia’s best Southdown genetics including Clearhills, Fairbanks and Chandpara. We currently lamb down 120 ewes.

An initial offering of 30 Southdown rams will be available at our annual sale, along with 280 Poll Dorset rams. The sale will be held on 21 October 2016, marking Athlone’s 25th year of selling rams.
